MY STEPDAD'S BIRD

Early 2021

Written and Directed by yours truly, "My Stepdad’s Bird" is the story of Jess and Kate, two teenage girl assassins, who decide to get out of the game after their stepdad Kurt recruited them to a life of crime when they were kids. As a final screw you before fleeing to their Nana's house for a fresh start, they steal Kurt's bird and he marks them for a horrific and certain death at the hands of their ill adjusted stepbrother, Hans.

Beginning filming in August 2020, this short was a fever dream collaboration of young artists coming together to tell this absurdist, and deeply human, story.

This was my directorial film debut, wrangling aspects of my formal dramatic and comedic training to create this story from concept to completion. No birds were harmed in the making of the film.
